Hey there, travel enthusiasts! We’re the dynamic duo behind “Roaming the World with You,” and we’ve just celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary in Grenada. Each August, we make it a point to explore a new country or city to commemorate our relationship, and this time around, it was Sean’s turn to call the shots. He chose the enchanting Grenada and an all-inclusive resort, and boy, did it turn out to be an amazing choice!

Our adventure began in August 2023 when we arrived at the Royalton Grenada: An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, conveniently just a stroll away from the airport. To kick things off, we were greeted with a warm, island-style welcome – a refreshing rum punch that set the tone for our romantic anniversary getaway.

Royalton Grenada: Rooms and Amenities

For those unfamiliar with the concept of all-inclusive resorts, it’s like stepping into a dream where everything you need is at your fingertips. Meals, drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and a wide range of activities are all included in one convenient package. At the Royalton Grenada, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to accommodation, with room rates starting at just $405 per night (remember its all-inclusive). From garden view rooms to oceanfront suites, 1 to 3-bedroom suites, and even beach walkout options, there’s a room to suit every taste and budget. Our personal choice was a garden view room with a spacious balcony that was thoughtfully decorated to mark our special anniversary.

But here’s where the Royalton Grenada truly stands out – they offer an exclusive Butler Service for those who crave a personalized touch. Imagine having your own dedicated butler catering to your every need, ensuring a truly pampered and unforgettable stay. This resort is designed to accommodate guests of all ages. Whether you’re an avid water sports enthusiast or traveling with little ones, there’s something here for everyone. Paddleboards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, and hobie cats are all at your disposal.

And let’s not forget the crown jewel – Tamarind Beach at Royalton Grenada. It’s a pristine and picturesque slice of coastline where you can soak up the sun and tranquility. During our stay, we spent most of our time on the quieter side of the beach, indulging in snorkeling and kayaking adventures.

What to do at the Royalton Grenada

Throughout our six-day stay at the Royalton Grenada over Memorial Day weekend, we had a blast exploring all the activities and facilities the resort had to offer.

Join the Fun: The Royalton Grenada offers a wide range of planned activities to keep guests of all interests entertained throughout their stay. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast or simply looking for some fun in the sun, there’s something for everyone. We enthusiastically participated in yoga and beach volleyball, tried our hand at water aerobics, and even joined a captivating cooking class. For a dose of friendly competition, we took part in trivia by the main pool, and though victory eluded us, the endless mimosas made it all worthwhile.

Indulge in Spa Bliss: Both of us love going to the spa s, and we couldn’t resist a visit to the Royalton Grenada’s tranquil sanctuary. From the moment we entered the spa’s soothing ambiance, we could feel the stress and worries of daily life melt away. We treated ourselves to the “Time to Connect for Couples” package, a blissful 100-minute experience that included a body scrub, body wrap, facial, and massage. Before our treatments commenced, we luxuriated in separate locker rooms, indulged in the sauna and steam room, and capped it off with a refreshing hydrotherapy shower. The spa experience transported us to a realm of relaxation and self-care. We left feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and ready to continue our enchanting stay at this remarkable resort.

Poolside Bliss: The Royalton Grenada boasts multiple pools, each with its unique charm. Whether we wanted to unwind by the infinity pool, take a refreshing dip in the main pool, or enjoy cocktails at the swim-up bar, there was a pool to cater to our preferences. The serene and relaxing atmosphere by the poolside made it the perfect spot for us to unwind and soak up the Caribbean sun. Whether it was a leisurely swim or lounging on comfortable sunbeds, we relished the tranquility and luxury that the resort had to offer.

Savor the Scenery: The Royalton Grenada treats guests to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, providing a picturesque backdrop for your vacation. Whether you’re gazing at the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, marveling at the lush greenery of the tropical gardens, or admiring the stunning sunsets, the resort offers plenty of spots to relax and soak in the natural beauty. Find a cozy spot on a terrace, enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach, or simply sit back and take in the awe-inspiring vistas. Immerse yourself in the serenity of the surroundings and let the beauty of Grenada captivate your senses.

Beach Time: There are two different stretches of beach separated by the main pool building, both with plenty of space to lounge and relax on chairs and cabanas. On one side, there is the beach volleyball court, a dedicated space for Diamond Club members, Sands Beach Bar, and Nibbles. On the other side, which is quieter are the water activities.

Dining Options at Royalton Grenada

When it comes to dining, Royalton Grenada spoils you with a diverse selection of culinary experiences. Guests can indulge in the flavorful spices of Indian cuisine, experience the elegance of French dishes, delight in the comforting flavors of Italian favorites, and explore a wide array of options at the international buffet. Additionally, the resort’s café serves delightful snacks and beverages throughout the day, providing a perfect spot to grab a quick bite or enjoy a leisurely coffee.

Here’s a culinary tour you won’t want to miss:

1. Taj: This Indian restaurant was the first one we visited at the Grenada Royalton and it was delicious that we went twice during our stay. The atmosphere was dark and moody with aromatic curries to tandoori specialties, this dining option promises a culinary journey filled with exotic spices and authentic dishes.
2. Ma Maison: This was our least favorite restaurant on the resort. While the staff was wonderful the food was not very French. For example, the french onion soup lacked flavor and the traditional toasted crouton was served on the side with no cheese. Also, I had the duck (and I love duck) and it was overcooked and underseasoned.
3. Grazie Italian Trattoria: This was our 2nd favorite restaurant which also ate at twice and everyone else loved it too because the wait could be long, so be sure to make a reservation. They offer traditional pastas to wood-fired pizzas but our favorite was the beef carpaccio and pork tenderloin.
4. Gourmet Marché: The Royalton Grenada has an international buffet with a different themed dinner nightly. From Grenadian to Italian to Mexican, there is something to satisfy every guest. The Gourmet Marché is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we visited during each time so we good try it all. Dinner was a hit or miss but breakfast and lunch was delicious with a wide range of options.
5. Scoops Gelato and Caffe Lounge: The resort’s café is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy delightful snacks and beverages throughout the day. Whether you’re in the mood for a freshly brewed coffee, a sweet treat, or a light bite, the café offers a cozy and relaxing atmosphere to satisfy your cravings. We enjoyed ended our day with a scoop of ice cream or a slice of cake.

Guests can also take advantage of room service, allowing them to eat meals in the comfort of their own accommodation. The room service menu has very limited options but we ordered twice, breakfast and lunch and it wasn’t the best room service experience we’ve ever had.

The dining options at the Royalton Grenada provide a wide range of flavors and enjoyable experiences, catering to the satisfaction of every guest’s taste preferences.
